Much of the incredible bubble in the late 20s US stock market was financed (fueled) by the Europen money. Europe practically surrendered it's economy to the emerging US. The entire US was the .com of the day. As soon as money started to flee the bubble it collapsed the a house of cards and the architects of the house along with it. Europe never fully recovered til the 50s. The stock market crash in the US merely signaled the beginning of a world wide depression. Not the cause but a symptom.
