Take the distance from bottom of the 1st soldier to the top of the last soldier, and add 50%. Sometimes you can get the 100% extension, but probably 85% of the time I see the 50% extension operative.

The pattern can re-trace 50% before the target is reached. Technically , the pattern is not negated until the first candle is breached to the downside.

The 3-black crow pattern is similar in target calculations.
