There seems to be sentiment on both sides of this issue. Having McCain speak in your defense counts here, but I had a sickening feeling that Durbin was more concerned about his base at home than the creeps across the aisle. He may have felt he had to endure the self-righteousness of wingers who smell blood for the sake of appearing circumspect to the home crowd. Either way, the party needs to keep up the drumbeat. I don't care where it comes from. Just don't fold.
