With what?? Slingshots?!

You really believe that Saddam took over Kuwait, and violently and viciously murdered hundreds of Kuwaitis with just slingshots? That he gassed the Kurds with just slingshots? That he struck at Israel with just slingshots?

You really believe that Saddam, with all his oil wealth, was not as powerful, if not much more powerful, than Al Qaeda?

And Saddam had little to do with Muslim extremists.

You don't think that Saddam, and his regime, were moslem extremists? How many hundreds of thousands of victims do there have to be, for someone to be considered an extremist?

Just look at the history of Iraq during his reign

Yes, please do. When was the last time you spend more than a minute studying the history of Iraq or anywhere else in the Middle East? Probably NEVER!

When did Iraq ever attack the US? Shooting at supersonic fighters with 1950's AA guns (which would be taken out the very next minute) does not count.

Why do you not consider Saddam's efforts to shoot down our planes, as hostile acts? Do you really think that they were friendly acts towards America?

He may have been a nutcase. But if he *was* dangerous and violent, he was probably dangerous and violent to his own people at worst. None of his neighbors had anything to fear from him ...

You must really admire Neville Chamberlain. You would have probably given Hitler much more than Chamberlain. He thought the same thing about Hitler as you do about Saddam. What surprises me about you, is that, after all of the violent, ruthless, barbaric, inhuman acts of Saddam, you still feel that his evil, unstable regime was not a threat to the Middle East, America, or elsewhere. With all of the information that we have available today, you don't seem to have understood anything.
