And even more importantly, I want our borders sealed to the maximum degree ASAP. I look with hope to "peak oil", "global economic meltdown", "H5N1" or Osama's next outrage to be the catalyst to begin a new American Isolationism.

Wasn't war what brought us out of isolation to begin with in ww2? The towers - the tsunami - it seems tragedy is what brings us together. I just watched a special on Sam Adams and john hancock - tragedy is what united the colonists no? I never knew the colonists paid more for smugglers tea than they did for mother englands tea even with tax. Dumb colonists - they let crooked smugglers who were interested in profit use lying propoganda to warp their minds - hehe.

I saw Jeb speaking fluent spanish the other day on the news - I think any hope of isolationism is gone in this global melting pot - look right here on boom busts, we have professors and hobos, slanty eye, round eye, asian, american, indian, southern, yanks - sheep loving NZ's - no I see a future of shades of grey - the colors and nationalities will fade out. The clerk at my local hotel is from UAE - the woman I took there is from Vancouver - the gas I used to pick her up was sold by a guy from Iran and the food I ate was from a girl from Bohol. A mexican brought the extra towels to our room.

<This country, especially the Old South is an incredibly peaceful place. >

Are you kidding? Have you seen the murder statistics for all the countries? The USA is NOT what one would call incredibly peaceful.

American isolationism is not possible. The USA is globally integrated and there's no going back to some sort of Albanian or North Korean isolationist "Utopia".

Maybe you mean just isolationist in a military sense.
