You call that article "research"?Suspects have been sent to Syria, Morocco, Egypt and Jordan, countries whose abusive practices have been documented and condemned by the State Department's annual human rights report. Any proof? Or just because the article writer say it, it is so?"We don't kick the s-- out of them. We send them to other countries so they can kick the s-- out of them," an unnamed official who had participated in the rendering of prisoners told the Post. Any proof? Or just because the article writer say it, it is so?Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., has been trying to get answers, but the administration officially denies what it is doing. "United States policy is to obtain specific assurances from the receiving country that it will not torture the individual being transferred to that country," wrote William Haynes II, general counsel of the Defense Department, in response to Leahy's queries. Note the guy arguing the US government's position gets named. Why doesn't the anti-US government position source get named? Why do you believe an unnamed source more than a named source? And for the coup de gras of your rock solid research, you are going to claim that Syria is allying itself with the US CIA in efforts to interrogate prisoners?! Syria?! Your one real world named example has Syria helping the US do interrogations? And now comes a living example of the administration's game: Maher Arar. For 10 months Arar was beaten, whipped with cables and threatened in a Syrian prison where we sent him. Doesn't that sounds as ridiculous to you as it does to me? How long do you think Syria and the US CIA have secretly been partners in crime? The administration apparently feels justified in turning over suspects for torture, on the theory that our cause is righteous therefore anything we do in its advancement is moral. Yawn. Any proof? Or just because the article writer say it, it is so?Why don't you get your head out of the sand and do some research. You call that article "research"? I'll ask again, see if you can come up with something at least reasonable this time. How many US prisoners have been outsourced to non-US countries? Please share with us this information.
