Does that mean you're OK with the idea of keeping uncharged, unrepresented and unconvicted foreign nationals incarcerated for years or even lifetimes?

If they were lawful combatants under Geneva Convention IV, then they would be kept as POWs, i.e. "uncharged, unrepresented and unconvicted foreign nationals" for the duration of the conflict. Would you have a problem with that?

Should terrorists have more rights than POWs?

Ed, again lots of folks downstream commented on yours....
I believe your posts show a common theme....you don't trust Bush, any of the people he brought in, any of the Military who are at any of the prisons, and maybe even the FBI and CIA, etc...at All levels. For all I know, maybe you don't trust anyone, in any level, in any department of any of the government entities there are in the US.

What I don't understand is why you, or folks that think like you do, think that we as a government, would send anyone who isn't the "worst of the worst" to Gitmo? It is expensive to house these people, to provide them with every single thing they require to live, sleep, eat, pray, clothes, medical, dental, and all the etcs.....

We pay more for each of them than we do for any of our military personnel I'm sure.

WHAT would be the point of keeping someone there if we didn't think they needed to be there? It would be cheaper to house them in nearly any other place.

You still haven't replied to this>>>>

I really am serious about my question...."should we keep a prison camp at Gitmo or anyplace else....?"

or kill them before we think about putting them in prison?
or turning them back to the country of their origin?
or just not capturing them at all?
