Hitchens is an idiot. That's not what FIXED means. Fixed doesn't mean housekeeping in either English language. Fixed in the DSM means putting the cart before the horse. Instead of coming up with a conclusion based on the intelligence, the conclusion comes first and the intelligence is cherry-picked and even fabricated to support it. It's also known as LYING. This is obvious given the sentence that precedes it: "... justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD." Since all the participants knew that Saddam wasn't involved in 911 and didn't have any nukes, the intelligence rationale wasn't sufficient for war THEREFORE the intelligence had to be FIXED to support the conclusion of WAR. How hard is this? Seems pretty dang clear in either English language.
