Is it because Murdoch hates Blair so much that he doesn't mind plastering Bush at the same time? A few years ago, say in 1997, Rupert Murdock became a fan of Tony Blair's New Labor concept. Thus, Murdock was on board to help Blair defeat John Major. I do not quite know where Murdock stands on Blair today, though I daresay that Murdock's effort in releasing the DSM was clearly meant to do damage to the Labor Party in the May 5 parliamentary elections. In this, he was clearly effective. I'd be only speculating about why Murdock attacked Blair, but generally speaking, Murdock is one of the greediest bastards on the planet and is only interested in increasing his own personal power and wealth. Perhaps Blair was setting up some tripwires to Murdock's efforts to grow his media empire in Britain. I just don't know. The situation is different here in the U.S. where the Murdock papers have been all but silent on the DSM. The reason is simple. George Bush is as much Murdock's lapdog as Tony Blair is George Bush's. So, Murdock had every reason to pull his punches when it comes to attacking George Bush as a liar. Of course Bush is liar, but he's also been useful greaser for Murdock's empire-building obsessions. From all I can tell, Murdock may have assumed that the DSM story could be contained and wouldn't become an issue in the U.S. In this regard, the inaction of the MSM during May in the U.S. is proof that this is what the media lords intended. That their will to suppress the issue is still strong, we only need witness the grotesque contortions of clowns like Michael Kinsley, Dana Milbank, Christopher Un-hitched-to-reality and the other bonzo boffons of baloney.
