While technically we are omniverous, did you know that throughout history there have been quite a few large vegetarian cultures? yes The vegetarians have tended to be the artistic subsets of society--the writers, painters, poets, and spiritual leaders. The meat eaters have tended to be the the capitalistic rich and those who emulate them Well, this seems like a bit of made up information that is supposed to evoke an emotional response along the lines of "artists good,Spiritual leaders good, rich people bad, capitalists bad". Which I think is a load of crap. I think both are essential to our species. I guess I would have to ask you to produce some supporting data for your assertion. I can provide tons of examples to counter the assertion...so again, no causal relationship there. BTW: I am an artist...yes yes, I know it is hard to believe. I actually had a couple of shows. Of course, I'm also a capitalist. My boss is a vegetarian and he is a pretty intense capitalist. In a way, your statement, no matter how fallacious, suggests strongly that meat eating is a strong survival behavior. Whether you like them or not, capitalists and rich people tend to be doing a bit better than your stereotypical starving artist. And face it, though some artists do fabulously well, most artists truly are starving....unless they buy into some form of capitalist behavior (even if it is just being employed by a capitalist while bitching about it).
