Oh please! Fifty percent of the American public does not have the gene for arterial plaque. Of course the people who do are unfortunate, but that is no reason to continue to eat meat under the false belief that ONLY those people with the genetic problem are harmed by it.

That book, the China Study, and other research clearly ties the incidence of heart disease and certain cancers directly to meat and milk consuming habits in various populations. The incidence increases as third world peoples develop more western diets, period. The genetic argument is weak, at best.
