I can think of one good reason why China would feel this way. IF IRAN goes Nuclear there is a CHANCE (cant estimate the odds) that it will eventually lead to some type of nuclear conflagation in the middle east. If that happens NO ONE is gonna get any oil and China has damn little of its own, at a time when they need more and more to support their rapidly growing economy. jdn

China gives out five different stories on any one subject at a time.. take your pick on what you want to believe. I doubt china is going to do a thing vs Iran going nuke and may be helping them for all we know.

Li Hoaxing who is on an official state trip to Israel spoke from Jerusalem. He continued: "Though China does have certain relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, it will never agree to permit such a regime to equipped with nuclear weapons."

Postering for US government support to buy UNOCAL.

I admit that I do not understand why it is in China's interest to do this, especially since it has been going to great lengths to secure its supply of oil from the Persian Gulf. One would think that facing the mullahs from Jerusalem would not be the best way to guarantee the flow of crude."

China has also been going to great lengths to secure US weapons technology via Israel...
