Sun Tzu: The UN was never a solution, but a problem. Nations can settle their own problems and disputes. Uninvolved or unaffected Nations can assist or get involved (choose sides) or not as they so decide, such is the freedom of choice.

The US should unplug from and stop funding the UN and remove the UN from its shores yesterday.

Sun Tzu: Any thoughts on China’s ongoing theft of intellectual property rights, patents, etc?

China has greatly benefited from its thievery by having little to no R&D cost with regards to competing with the rest of the world. China should have never been allowed to prosper from its thievery.

A commentator on CNBC said this morning, if the thievery were removed from the equation the US trade deficit with China would never have materialized or better said would not exist.

The US in its efforts to promote free trade, has made a regularly practice of shooting itself in the foot. Free trade cannot exist unless the World Trade Organization regulations are honored. And if they are not, then punitive sanctions by the WTO should be imposed on offending countries until the practice is stopped and restitution made.

Caveat: The WTO is a heavily flawed entity, one of which I do not hold in high esteem, but for now it is the primary international mechanism for fairness in trade between countries.
