Hindsight is 20-20. Smearvet lies probably made the difference. What can you do about a successful dishonest smear campaign? Just make sure it never happens again and whomever tries another one gets the shaft. Frankly, there ought to be laws against such things, but though product ads are subject to truth in advertising laws, lying in political ads is still legal.

Remember, if not for cheating and smearing, Bush would never have been president to begin with. McCain would have the nomination in 2000 and Gore would probably have beaten McCain. Bush wouldn't even have been in the running.

I think anyone who has been too long in Washington doesn't live in the same reality as the rest of us. Kerry is a perfect example. The Dems need a governor to step up.
