<<This supreme court decision is the very thing that could spring an insurrection in this country. The old adage, a Mans Home is his Castle, still rests deep in the psche of people, though we know its no longer very true, now the Supreme court publicly states so.>>

About 15 years ago the city here made offers at the appraised real estate tax value to homes in a 100 acre depressed area to buy them out. It was also an area that had problems with water drainage. Sell to the city or the housing inspectors would descend and look for violations. All sold and it did wonders for the local mobile home market with the people who I've talked to being happy with their non leaking wobbley boxes.

The city sold the land to a developer for one buck and loaned him $3 million for construction @ 1%. A very nice truck stop was built and that attracted a North American Van Lines terminal plus a truck repair shop, motels and food places. This is where I74 and I55 merge for a few miles. The Mayor retired at 40 off the kick backs. Last year they found two dead snakes on the property that were 15 and 19 feet long and had to shoot a tiger that was running loose.

I'm afraid you might be correct in that assumption, JDN.
