"None of it is good for American citizens." Dependencies, in and of themselves, are not necessarily bad things. Babies depend on a nurturing parent, healthy families have dependencies upon one another, communities are based on interdependency and as we have now evolved socially into a global community it is appropriate that nations become more and more interdependent. Being addicted is never a healthy type of dependency and I agree that we should not be so dependent on one certain thing, from one source, that we can be manipulated to conduct ourselves in a manner that is contradictory to our principles of living or the best interests.
