Look on the bright side. At least Kennedy did, in the process, stand up for deference to state laws and local determinations. <ggg>

The Constitution wanted to make the Supremes exempt from political influence so made it lifetime. The trouble is in that day, people were HONORABLE and did the right thing. Today, IDEALOGY seems to have become more important then our Constitution in many peoples minds and thus WE THE PEOPLE need PROTECTION from the VERY INSTITUTION DESIGN TO PROTECT US. jdn
