Karl Rove succeeds by being dirty, unethical and having zero conscience. Yes he is also smart, but his willingness to do anything to anyone to win is the key to his success. It is also evidence that he is a sociopathic menace to democracy.

It makes sense that Rove is another self-loathing closet queen. If I were Rove, I'd loath myself too. He is truly an evil person. He has destroyed many innocent lives. Yet Bush has no problem with dirty evil politics. After all he and Rove both were trained by the granddadyy of dirty politics, Lee Atwater.

Lee died years ago, sobbing with a deathbed confession, begging for forgiveness for all the people he'd unfairly unharmed. John O'Neill's mentor Charles Colson had a jail house confession similar to this. Amongst those Colson apologized to was John Kerry.

Modernday Bushies ofer no such confessions or apologies. They celebrate political devilry and even give awards for the dirtiest liar of the year. John O'Neill won this year.
