Ok, I'm a little curious how you stumbled on that particular interview after browsing the current issue.

So I'm a pretty good researcher.. ;0)

It helps to have some great tools to work with.. (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)..

Bottom line, Wahabbism/Salafism originates from the Arabian peninsula and primarily from the Saudi connection that helped bring them to power back in the '20s, and overthrowing the Hashemite rulers of the Hijaz region (Mecca and Medina).

Add a bit splash of Qubtism out of Eygpt and we have a religious philosophy ready-made for militant extremism.

All I'm saying is that to defeat Islamic militancy, we're going to have to deal with the major purveyors of it, namely the clerics in Saudi Arabia. We all know the Saudi Royal Family has a vested interest in ensuring these clerics don't undermine their legitimacy, but we also have to ensure the Saudi's stop turning a blind eye to the "evangelical" activities of these clerics.
