Nah! This IQ thing can't be right. The school system and the meritocratic system is slanted towards a small fraction.

ASSESSING THE ASHKENAZIC IQ
lagriffedulion.f2s.com

See why: A big fraction of the teachers are of some extraction, the most bright students comes from the same extraction.

Then the Supreme Court draws its members that studied on those universities Ivy League Universities and there you are.

Look, if I the teachers come from that small fraction, to be successful in entering these schools with the highest grades, students have to understand the mindset of that fraction that composes the faculty. The best students are the ones who understood that. Who better to get a better and deepr understanding of the mindset of that fraction (that have developed the tests) than the young members of that said fraction.

You get perpetuation here...

There's no need to have high IQ. What's necessary it is to see what is behind any claim.

(I haven't measure mine, but I guess is 54 when I am awake and goes up to 70 when I go sleep).

Two sloppy ideas - "race" and "IQ"

People will pay heaps to have their offspring rank around 150 IQ instead of 90

Well, I took a large pay cut to get my two daughters into schools in Scotland after the USA versions were plainly not up to scratch.

For a start my kids were not being put into school early enough. My youngest, who has a birthday in October was not going to be allowed to attend school till she was nearly six! I asked the USA school authorities to put her into school a year early, but they did a "maturity test" and said she not yet able to attend school. So I gave them the finger and left the country.

Back in the UK I had to deliberately find bad schools for my kids to attend. I didn't want them to appear too far behind thier classmates. Later I was able to move them into a top notch school where they both excelled. I.Q's now way up at the top end of the chart. The role of the parents is an important interaction as well. You can't force your kids to study, but you can take an interest in their education and play the game where they get interested too.

The UK 11 plus exam (much derided) was based on the true fact that a childs developing brain and education is an important interaction. By age 11 your destiny has been sorted, whether you will be a doctor or street sweeper. Both functions are just as important imho. It is important to start the education of a child by about age four or earlier.

Your gene (race) explanation of I.Q is boloney as far as I'm concerned. A view I have mentioned before. Racist B/S politics at it's worst.

If I brought up my kids in the USA as was destined at the time, I reckon both of them would have ended up with I.Q's below a 100.

If you gave me a 4 year old black kid from anywhere in Africa, yes I reckon I could also get them into Glasgow university studying biology by age nineteen too. With an I.Q well above 130. It's like growing plants, a little care an attention and they bloom.
