Today Vietnam admitted that H5N1 had changed and was not being detected by their tests (i.e. they were generating false negatives and the situation is marked worse than indicated).

Vietnam just left (first visit to US since end of war) with a promise of support from the US in the battle against bird flu. The situation is clearly much worse than indicated in the popular press (and both governments know it)
