Ouch. The truth often hurts.

"There is no foreign country we can depend on. We must look to G-d and to our own strength."

The firs sentence is true of every sovereign nation.

"America has promised to "stand by" Israel in times of trouble. I think Bill Clinton was president at a time when Israelis were frequently being targeted by Arab terrorists, and he told Israel not to worry, since America would "stand by" Israel."

It was Clinton, he was not exacTly steadfast on anything... The author is correct in pointing out how fickle America can be when its own immediate interests are not at stake. Also true of most countries.

"The United States demands full control over any arms Israel develops with parts bought from the states."

Demands and receives are often different. I believe the Stinger anti aircraft missile was not nearly as effective as the Israeli modified version. Israel did not share their technology. There are other examples of Israel taking an American system and improving it without sharing the data back the US. This is self interest at work.

US acts for it's own interests and there is no FREE "friendship" period. .... any one thinking so is just naive. True many American citizens are TRUE friends of Israel but this has relative little spillover effect on the US State Department which is mainly pro Arabist and not sympathetic to Israel cause for as long as I remember.

If not for the former USSR and the balance of power in the ME, Israel would had disappeared long ago

Love for Jews? well only for those contributing large sums of money to the election and seem political correct as it is with any minority
