Oh... there's a 'middle' all right.

(There are more Americans registered as Independent & or third Party then registered as Dem. or Rep.)

But I believe that the terms 'left' & 'right' fail to capture much of what is important about political views. For example, the labels totally fail to measure views toward Authoritarianism vs. Libertarianism, and fail to measure Religiousity, among several other things.
