That was back in Oregon. I'm still trying to find a good Beamer mechanic here in the OC. (The last one was OK, except he may have overcharged me on labor. After all, it shouldn't take a whole hour just to hook up a car to a computer.)

Its tough finding an honest garage mechanic that does good work in S. CA. They are rarer than a water fountain in the desert. <g> The trick is finding one that doesn't screw you too badly.

Up here, its a different story. I took my car in for brakes to a place in my area that's new to me .....expecting to pay a steep price. He charged me $150 to replace the pads in the front and then said the pads in the back didn't need to be replaced for another 15-20K miles. In S. CA, it would have been $350 for the front pads and another $350 for the back pads........and forget about the 15K miles crap.

What do you think?

Remember when I told you this would happen.....that his ratings would start to plummet? Californians don't like politicians whether they are a Gray or an Arnold. And the reason they don't is because the state has become way too messed up........all the king's horses and all the king's men can't put CA back together again.

Unfortunately, I believe Arnold is trying very hard to make things better. Would you not agree?

Schwarzenegger Seeks to Retain Image

Arnold Schwarzenegger has stared down adversaries before — from bodybuilding rivals in his Mr. Olympia days to the menacing fake enemies of his action films.

But after months of trying to stare down Democrats over a package of government reform measures, a new poll shows the posture may not be playing as well in the political arena. And it's costing him the currency he's long valued most — his own popularity.

A statewide Field Poll shows Schwarzenegger's job approval has skidded to just 37 percent, down from a stratospheric 65 percent last year. And only 37 percent support a special election to consider his reform measures, which include setting a state spending cap, redrawing legislative districts and increasing from two to five years the time it takes teachers to get tenure. The poll showed voters support the tenure measure, but the other two are running well behind.
