"Why do you bother posting such ridiculous hyperbole? It's not going to convince anyone to buy more stock, in fact, the opposite is more likely."

Perhaps you are incapable of comprehending the significance of this HP statement?

"We feel HP Compaq nx6125 notebook really hits the sweet spot of the SMB market," said Stephen Shultis, director of commercial notebook product marketing at Palo Alto, Calif.-based HP.

Call it hyperbole if you like. (I can call you a "dork" to if I like. Such a statement would reveal the about the same amount of underlying reason as does yours ;-)

Nothing exaggerated about it at all. If you've been reading posts on this thread, then you must be aware that there are those, who 2 to 3 months ago, were claiming that AMD would never be able to compete in the enterprise mobile sector. With this one announcement, not only has AMD demonstrated that they can compete with Centrino, but they can also compete in the enterprise space. That Doug, is not hyperbole, but that, Doug, is diificult to overexaggerate its importance.

Just in case you think I'm alone in pointing out the potential significance of the HP Compaq nx6125 notebook, you might read this:

news.zdnet.com

Again, I can't think of a more significant statement concerning AMD's mobile efforts. Again, you're being dorky to call it hyperbole.

As far as your nonsense about stock price, I won't even comment further because you're being even "dorkier" in making such a staement.

"The nonsense about AMD not having yet focused on the desktop space is particularly fatuous."

Doug, you seem to have tipped over after 2 down days for AMD. Chill, it'll be OK. It's only "market risk" not "company risk" that took it down the past 2 days.

By the way, surely you recall that AMD management has repeatedly stated that the order of prority is:

1. Server
2. Mobile
3. Desktop

Sure looks to me that the HP Compaq nx6125 notebook is a signal that AMD is now focusing on #2. If so, I can't wait 'til they put desktops under their microscope.

The only thing fatuous about any of the above is your conclusion that such is fatuous ;-)

You do seem on edge but just put a sock in it, 'cause you seem to be tiliting at windmills, and recently, there does seem to be a correlation between your tilting at windmills and a negative AMD price slope.

"Why do you bother posting such ridiculous hyperbole?"

Is this more hyperbole or is it "dorky" to call it more hyperbole?

"We have a contender which may force IBM to offer Turion in the Thinkpad.

Turion notebooks offer compelling advantages: security card reader, fingerprint reader, 64 bits, more performance, MiMo WiFi, WiMax upgrade, $1000 price, 7 hour battery. 6 lb.

Its a new category: cock of the rock."

from here:

finance.messages.yahoo.com

Again, call it what you will, but I'd call the HP Compaq nx6125 notebook the most important notebook announcement that has ever been made in support of AMD's notebook efforts.

As indicated in an earlier post, 60% of the 50M plus unit per annum mobile market is in business purchases. Looking at it another way, with the HP announcement, AMD now has access to a new 30M/annum mobile space from which AMD had hitherto been shut out.

Again, Holy cow! AMD just gained entry to a new 30M unit/annum sector. And what's more, the HP Compaq nx6125 notebook, does look like it has the necessary features to compete very, very effectively.

It's one thing to enter a new 30M plus units/annum market. It's another to enter it with a sub-$1000 feature rich offering.

Yeah, I think the the 6 lb HP Compaq nx6125 notebook with its security card reader, fingerprint reader, 64 bits, more performance, MiMo WiFi, WiMax upgrade, $1000 price, 7 hour battery might capture more than a tad of this 30M units/annum sector. Hyperbole? I doubt it.

The AMD / NG technical indicator does not look good for the near-term. Niceguy's ignors dropped from a 52 week high of 42 last week to a 52 week low of 38. Now I notice that his ignors have started moving back up in the last two days and now hover around 40. A number of "43" next week would signal an outright sell in my opinion.
