Bush is threatening our volunteer military's very viability. A volunteer military depends on healthy amounts of new recruits. Iraq has scared off most of them, and most of the best ones. Only getting bottom of the barrel type recruits now. Which means we have to spend a lot more by out-sourcing military jobs to gougers like Halliburton. In fact we may end up like the Romans, hiring mercenary armies.
