I am trying to do the math on private accounts for Social Security and understand what the problem is. The system is nearly bankrupt. The President has lent his support for it. Republicans control the House of Representatives and the Senate. Obstructionist Democrats are against anything that would improve Social Security because they like to see decrepit old people starving. Democrats believe the great press they can use starving seniors being evicted for is preferable to retirees thankful for a stable financial future.

If the Republican Controlled House and Senate passed a law to benefit seniors, the President would sign it. What is the delay?
