B'b...you are correct on MMR.

I own it... and am long it within a "small" basket of LNG/Alternative Energy Plays.

A Smart play on Nat Gas and with a LNG kicker.

Thank you, sir.

I've been doing a bit of preliminary research on MMR and LNG in general.

A couple of points/questions:

All of the LNG stuff I've seen, and certainly the Main Pass Energy Hub license MMR is applying for, involves imported LNG, presumably from places like Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

I thought we had plenty of natural gas reserves in the US such that the logical place to look for it in the first place was here. Aren't we trying to develop our own sources of energy instead of trading one addiction to a foreign energy source for another? Will it make any difference?

Second, there are lots of folks applying for LNG offshore licenses and they will undoubtedly face the same kinds of problems MMR will from environmentalists, et al. I do think using an old salt cavern as a reservoir is an innovative idea, but I wonder if this method has been tested. I cannot find any instances in which it has, but I guess that if the cavern held sulfur, it can hold LNG.

Don't discount that crazy Loozyana Legislature--if it imposes a tax, as I think it can, the cost structure will change.

One last point: I wonder how much of MMR's present stock price is based on its LNG's prospects? These prospects could evaporate if the license is not granted, which is definitely a possibility.
