<This is a team work. Like desiging a microprocessor. There is 100K man hours in it. Not a couple of geniuses. These complex endeavours, are taken on by hiring thousands of average guys.> Odd how MSFT, QCOM etc deliberately hire really smart people, and, what a surprise, they are doing really well. You could hire a million non-smart people and you won't get an ASIC out of them that anyone wants to buy. I'd rather have a smaller group of bright people. Garden variety brain power has a lot of trouble doing anything other than grow vegetables. I look at an ASIC and say "Duh!" So I hired Dr Irwin Jacobs and co and hey presto, they produced umpty million super duper CDMA ASICs for cyberphones and they are selling like hot cakes and Dr J and co are sending me lots of lovely dividends.
