Can it be that James Fallows is saying that all the troubles of the present age trace back to a tax cut? What a lightweight. For some reason this guy Fallows irritates me. He’s one of our little, certified-as-safe, establishment intellectuals. His talent is to write a piece with a grand sounding title while not running aground in the tricky waters and complex cross currents of Political Correctness. To navigate the way he does takes real skill, and can serve as the foundation on which to build a career --- but there is a cost. He has to not mind being a poodle.
