The comment about "lefties" supporting veterans was based on my own personal experience. The people I know who are most concerned about their physical and mental disabilities, as well as just fairly compensating them for their service are all really liberal, bleeding heart kinds of people. I am sure there are veterans' advocacy groups made up of people from all different political persuasions, but I think it would be hard to be conservative and watch how this Administration gives lip service to the troops and to veterans while trying to take back services and benefits as much as possible in their policies.
