The mind of man, or, more accurately, woman, has been selecting mates since time immemorial. The rejects ended up in the French Foreign Legion or equivalent, and usually dead. Certainly they did not go on to produce the next generation. Apart from mindful eugenics by "wow, what a hot guy" processes, there has always been the natural mindless selection of elimination by natural processes, which happened to create the minds which became capable of deflecting a lion or polar bear with knapped flint and an AK47. Eugenics has always been. The part of eugenics that you are thinking about is just an add-on and is equally valid as a selection process. A lady could check off the things she wants in her offspring without hunting through crowds of obviously defective males on offer in the local village. Mindlessness isn't good, as you showed with your shooting story. Mindlessness in aiming the gene pool is as ineffectual as mindlessness in use of gun sights. Eugenics is what we do and more is better. No more of the random lottery with genes hiding way inside the cells with women unable to see if cystic fibrosis is lurking along with dementia in a few years, with her having to judge a book by its cover. A lot of guys would like women to not be so picky. For obvious reasons. Hence the profusion of female prostitutes. You are hard pressed to find male prostitutes [for women]. There aren't rows of them in a red light district with guys on display. Eugenics is good. It's done every day. Even some guys have their standards. But rather than randomly aim the gun sight, determine the target precisely and set the sights so the target is in fact reached. Mqurice
