One example of a way to help end Third World poverty as a volunteer - help Engineers Without Borders build roads, bridges, sewage treatment plants, hospitals, schools, power plants. Give time, expertise, or a donation.

Or just say, "I gave at the office," and change the channel.

Man...Talk about 'not understanding the original comments'!!! You aren't even close to my comments...I said:

There is NOT a single word in there that talks about an individual person. And most certainly not me.

Rather, I was discussing COUNTRIES......

In fact, you may not be aware of it, but it is just precisely the "turn around and gotcha' comments" that causes COUNTRIES' problems in the first place. The leaders of many COUNTRIES could do more to help their citizens, and they could do more to help the citizens of other COUNTRIES as well.

America seems to be always there, and hopefully, Americans will always be there to help.

But you are right about one thing....I am sick of those "whiney people" in some whiney countries who don't help their citizens, and who try to be part of the "let's bash America first" bunch.
