Bush didn't shut Enron down. Enron went into bankrupcy after a whistleblower risked her job to sound the alarm, the house of cards starting falling, investors dumped and rats deserted the ship. Enron was stock was being used as collateral for huge phony "loans" banked as profits. Once bad news leaked out the whole thing collapsed. Bush had nothing to do with it.

How dare you try to give credit to Bush for cracking down against Enron. Bush helped create Enron. And vice versa.

Bush also knew full well they were gouging the west coast and went along with it gladly. Why? Huge windfall profits to his closest corporate friends and the ability to drive Grey Davis out of power. The gouging didn't begin until the week after Bush-Cheney were nominated and only stopped the week Jeffords switched parties and gave Dems subpoena powers in the sente.

Ed Gillespie was the connection that proves Bushies and Enron were working strategically together. Tens of billions were ripped off and never given back. Cheney, James Baker and other top Bushies were also involved.
