Just read that our moronic Congress men and women voted down higher mandatory fuel efficiency requirements in the energy bill they are working on. So just like within the U.N., our gov't likes to create resolutions and bills that are long on talk and short on teeth. Meanwhile, in the real world, oil is now nearing $61 per barrel and our stock market is in lockdown because of it. If oil stays this high or higher over the next couple of years (analysts say $80 within a year or two is probable), then we are going to have a whopping recession that made the last one look mild. Does anyone remember the 70's? I sure do.

Can anyone please tell me what planet does our government think it is living on? I can't blame this all on Bush either. It is Congress, both sides of the aisle, that are to blame. Arghh!!!
