Walter that night was so exasperated at what he saw happening that he accidentally made news instead of reporting it.

Yes J Chris,

He was ""the most trusted man in America", as far as mainstream journalism goes.. But in retrospect, that isn't saying much. For this "grandfatherly" man did pull the wool over our eyes for a long time.. "Sincerely" and dutifully,,<g,ng> reporting progress and casualty counts that reflected a "Rummy" like input who was in power at the time too..

Maybe he finally got a conscience, I don't know.. Better late than never, I always say..

But he was no Edward R Murrow, IMO.. But one helluva a lot better than we have now..<ng>
