Some of his mistakes are detailed in the book Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin Lefevre, which is one of the best trading books I have read. Written in 1923 but quite applicable to trading today, IMHO.

Well Mish, its just that the guy who can pyramid up to a
fortune can do it again, but he is not the same guy that
can stop even though he knows he is way out on thin ice.

Need a way to transfer power over to a cautious guy after
a good run.
