Why is it wrong to call a spade a spade?

From what I see Rove wins elections by demonizing his opponents. This is a low tactic, but as has been pointed out, very effective.

I think it is by exposing low tactics that they will be changed. If someone is a liar, I think it is a fair and proper thing to do to point that out. Same goes for someone who uses low tactic in the pursuit of power.
