Excar, AEZ -- I looked at buying that stock briefly way back when it still was AOGI, but passed. They were being heavily promoted by Scott Fraser's "Natural Contrarian" newsletter, not sure if they still are or not.

The stock price seems to be way disconnected from the company fundamentals but I don't usually think about shorting these hype plays unless I can think of a specific near-term catalyst that would somehow make their shareholders "see the light" and sell out. Any thoughts on any such catalyst in this case?

excar, Whittier Energy (WHIT) -- I am now the proud owner of a huge position in this stock, wondering if you have hung in there with it. The stock trades by appointment only, but as we know, this is my schtick.

They finally got on Nasdaq, so now the # of shares in the float has increased by several multiples. Good news for the long term, but the newly tradeable shares were issued at almost half of the current quote, so it would not surprise me to see some of such shares find their way onto the market here. If in fact the stock trades lower it would be a great buying op IMO.
