Easy enough to guess what went on. No, not that, but Hector was pushing for a greater committment from HP in exchange for special volume pricing. Whatever else you may say about Carly, she is smart. She was probably very non-committal, yet interested. Having pegged her plans on out-Delling Dell, she would have to get clearance from Intel first, and they weren't interested. The rest was history...
