It's not just the incompetence of yesterday, Bush and co are continuing to be incompetent today. It's interesting to hear Biden, back from Iraq, position himself as commander-in-chief and looking more like it than Bush ever will.

He says that Bush's contention that no one needs more troops because the commanders don't ask for any is absurd. They don't ask because they've been warned not to. Of course they need more troops.

He says the Bushies came to the idea of training the Iraqis about 18 months late. This is why they have so few and why their numbers are absurd. There are about 2,500 trained and ready. That is, they can do the job on their own.

He didn't mention if they've been infiltrated by insurgents but then they don't know so why should he.

There are less than 20,000 more or less trained but who still need assistance from us. That's about it.

Germany and France and possibly others have offered to train more but outside of the country. I don't know how that works but apparently we said no, our way or the highway.

NATO has offered (?) some 3-5K troops to help seal the border with Syria. I dunno where that is today but are there any NATO troops anywhere in Iraq?

So we're out making fresh new mistakes even now. I believe education and learning from the past has been outlawed in this WH.
