I watched a little bit of Bush's speech and turned it off. My impression, based on body language and things I could not quite put my finger on was, "this guy is toast."

Anyway, he's done, no matter what. He's out of politics at the end of his term. Not like Clinton or Nixon, he won't keep hanging around, mooching whatever scraps of the old glory he can find. He'll do like his dad, get a few directorships on boards and make mucho bucks.

Maybe I am projecting here. I feel like, "OK, Iraqis, we liberated you, now could you please lift a finger and defend yourself? Anyone? Anyone?"
