Exactly right!

And, the President has the VETO, and the biggest 'bully pulpit' in the land... the ability to escalate any fight right over the heads of Congress by taking it straight to the public.

It only takes the GUTS to try it... and then let history be the judge that you made your best efforts.

Unfortunately GUTS seems to be much lacking in Washington. (Perhaps it's something congenitally missing in politicians.)

which is why I believe that only STRUCTURAL CHANGES will EVER be able to give the American people what they long for --- fiscal sanity, low & fairer taxes, and balanced budgets.

1) PAYGO rules *immediately*, (and then, since PAYGO can be revoked by any future Congress that wants to deficit spend again --- like the current one did),

2) A Balanced Budget Amendment to the US Constitution.
