I'd guess partly because we're on the 'right' side of them, so there's no axe to grind for us. Plus, it's not the most exciting angle - "British civil servants and intelligence staff urge caution on gung-ho Americans" is not really startling news, in hindsight or otherwise...

Also I think Iraq is seen as US adventurism to which Blair (with minimal support or backing) committed us. His standing in the UK and indeed Europe is so low, no one cares about this now. It doesn't really reflect on anyone else, except as even more proof that those of us who opposed the invasion were wiser...

and it's no great surprise. Plenty of people just on SI were saying it was decided way in advance, and we don't quite have a monopoly on sense despite appearances!
