.. what exactly is going away. mci could have done a voip trial with delta3; it is not. mci has customers, a national and global network. so this will be spun as a trial -- but its not going to 5,000 subscribers in selected geographic areas in the u.s. as one press put it, but to a maximum of 5,000 subscribers per city chosen, as a different voip blogger wrote it before this got exposed, with almost every state involved.

verizon is competing with sbc, not just with cable. verizon has had delta3.

sbc has delta3 and at&t's callvantage on tap.

i guess you have to wonder if verizon (and its speculation) would use the same voip provider verizon is using. but the voip 'trial' is not speculation or hidden anymore.
