How about "The Ugly Duckling"? No doubt a True Swan, Ted. Recognition will no doubt come with time...

Another fascinating tale of his is "The Xmas Tree". The poor guy was in love with Jenny Lind but never had a chance. Interestingly he went to the Royal Theater Copenhagen performances every evening.
When travelling he always carried with him a rope... for saving himself in case of a hotel fire where he stayed. Last but not least, you know he ticked the current page of his diary every evening when "successful"?

A true child in a grown up man's body. Very insightful indeed. With Kierkegaard and Andersen it is a true blessing to be in command of their language.
