There is no doubt that personal computing could use the increase in performance that cheap parallelism would offer. It is getting prohibitively expensive to pump enough power into chips to just concentrate on faster clock speed. I think this could easily lead to new consumer uses with improvements in interactive video and simulation. The dilemma for Dell is whether there are any current business needs for a greatly faster PC.
