It seems very normal to me - has walmart not hit your area yet and brainwashed the locals? Why is it easier to short a 300 dollar stock than a 25 dollar one? Psychological no? Heck right here on SI for 10 years I have seen people buy worthless pennies and hold on for years with the pyschology they can get a 10 bagger because the price is only 5 cents but buying goog at 85 and getting a 3 bagger is total fantasy to these folks. 85 can't triple in a year - that is hogwash. Back in south georgia I know a lot of rednecks that buy tons of junk because it has low share price - I try to tell them about the 2cnd richest man in the world, seemingly one of the best market timers in the world, and how they can get in cheap on the b shares and it doesn't matter. 2k is just not in the budget - 100 lottery tickets are though - be thankful for these people - they work hard and sweat bullets so you can take it easy in the cushy office. These are the folks that buy schlitz malt liqour bull and a bottle of four roses because they are of the extra low prices wal mart mindset - when a few more bucks would get them the good stuff that wouldn't rot thier gut out. SHHH, don't tell everyone to get more economically educated - the VIX is already low - we need suckers for the wild swings to get those famous tradermike swingtrades! Without volatility it's no fun eh?
