So you start to read an article that goes against your opinion

Dude, you don't even know what my "opinion" is. I posted an article that had two sides represented on the issue of whether Iraqis want the coalition to remain, and I believe that's the most accurate representation of Iraqi opinion. Some want us there, some don't. I've also said that I think most areas in Iraq are not the bastions of anarchy that the cut-paste news articles present; rather, they are relatively normal considering what the country has been through for the past 30 years. Horrific events occur, but they do not affect the vast majority (99%) of Iraqis. The numbers alone support that when you have a population of ~24 million. And I've said repeatedly that the disgust you feel when you hear of a suicide bomber killing 20 Iraqi's looking for a job should be directed at the bomber, and those that convinced him to do the killing, not at a collection of soldiers trying their best to stop (and kill) the bomber.

And an article that supposedly wants to paint an accurate a picture of Iraq but begins with Physicians have been beaten for treating female patients doesn't deserve your time for reading because the author clearly has an agenda, and that agenda is not the truth. When he/she starts with that outlandish action as something that is normal, why would you expect the remainder of the article to have anything objective?

So you start to read an article that goes against your opinion, you *misread the first sentence, then disregard the entire article, label it bull shit, and return to your comfortable position on the issue.

Open minded, intellectually curious? I don't think so. Myopic is a better description.

LOL.
