My objection to laptops is the heat buildup.

I keep my laptops elevated -- just two long skinny wooden blocks underneath on left and right side, lifts it up so the fan gets fresh, cool air.

I've got a Dell Latitude D600, which is pretty cool. If I put in my lap, it's warm, but not overly hot like alot of laptops.
